Lithgow Physi promotes fun and fitness through a series of
exercises and dance to music. At the beginning of each
year, new routines are learnt, then practised and perfected
until competitions in Sep- Nov each year. Whilst competitions
are not compulsory, participation is encouraged to foster
confidence and team spirit.

Classes are held every Tuesday during School terms, at Cooerwull Public School hall (primary campus), Main St, Lithgow. Fees are kept as low as possible - we are a not for profit organisation, and aim to make Physi an affordable sport.

Lithgow Physi began in 2000, when Instructress Melinda Mills decided to open a brand new club affiliated with the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture. Although Melinda had competed in Physical Culture since the age of three at various clubs throughout the Blue Mountains, she had never taught physi, and had no idea how it would be received in Lithgow. "I worried that there might just be my daughters and myself that first year, but we started with 20 members, and just grew and grew. There was a real need for a pastime for girls and ladies within the Lithgow area, and we have had members from as far away as Blackheath, Bathurst, Orange and Mudgee!"
